About | Nonprofit Helping Parents

The 505 Movement was created to provide resources for parents during divorce. We advocate for parents who have been unfairly treated by the system and need child custody help.

OUR STORY

The 505 Movement for Parental Advocacy

The 505 Movement was founded in 2025 by William “Bill” Jerikovsy of Grasston, Minnesota. Prior to founding the nonprofit which is a parental advocacy organization that helps good parents get time with their kids, Bill faced a contentious battle for access to his own kids.
During the divorce, Bill noticed there was a lack of resources for parents during divorce, especially custody rights resources for parents being treated unfairly in child custody
cases. These parents needed to gain a better understanding of custody bias and other factors that can affect their custody case outcome negatively. Fortunately, when Bill fought for his kids, he won.

A Way to Assist Others Through Child Custody Help

Bill was so moved by his experience that he wanted to see if there was a way to help other parents, especially dads, facing similar heart-wrenching challenges, good parents being denied access to their kids because of a broken system. He wanted to be there for other parents needing to learn how to get custody help. Because, let’s face it, kids are stronger when they have the support of positive parental role models.

A Nonprofit Helping Parents Is Born

Thus, The 505 Movement was born. The title of the movement came from a typo. When typing 50/50 custody, he looked at the document on his computer and 505 was on the screen instead of 50/50. At The 505 Movement, we are a nonprofit helping parents in these cases. The nonprofit is a place struggling parents can turn to apply for legal help and resources to fight unfair or biased judgments against them biases that threaten access to their children for no good reason.

We Strive for Fairness

While The 505 Movement will help all parents, the reality is that most of the people we assist will be fathers, simply because the current system favors mothers by default. We support family court reform, but until there is reform, parents need to understand that custody bias is a real problem that creates hurdles for child custody. The 505 Movement is a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax-deductible.
