The 505 Movement was created to provide resources for parents during divorce. We advocate for parents who have been unfairly treated by the system and need child custody help.

We advocate for unfairly treated parents in child custody

Since 2025, The 505 Movement has been a nonprofit helping parents find custody rights resources when they have been unfairly denied custody of their children.

Our founder, William Jerikovsky, had his own battle to access his kids, so he knows what you’re going through. His original filing was for full custody, but his lawyer said the system wouldn’t allow that for the father unless he went through a lengthy court battle and offered some sort of child support, essentially buying his children’s wellbeing. Bill learned from first-hand experience about child custody bias towards the mother. He wants to help other parents to understand custody bias and to provide resources for parents during divorce.

Divorce in Minnesota can mean problems. Bill and his team are here to help parents have a fair fight. Every good parent has the right to see their kids, and Bill wants to help other good parents who just want time with their kids. Because, sadly, once that time passes by in a child’s formative years, you can never get it back.

How we can support you

Our mission is to support and empower parents facing custody challenges and raise awareness about their rights. We are committed to provide education, community support, and resources to empower parents. Through our program you may receive the following aid:

 Offer workshops to educate parents on their rights.
 Provide legal resources to help parents negotiate custody negotiations
 Provide financial aid for legal fees

Who we fight for

The 505 Movement is committed to help any parent who is struggling to present a fair case when fighting for custody. We specialize in helping dads who have become victims of unfair systemic biases. Nonetheless, we welcome anyone in need. We believe all good parents deserve time with their children.

When parents shouldn't have custody

We believe all good parents deserve access to their kids, but there are scenarios when it isn't good for the kids:

 Abusive behaviour, including psychological, sexual, and physical abuse
 Substance abuse
 Domestic Violence
 Child neglect such as not providing basic necessities, like food, shelter, and clothing
 Child abandonment
 Prior termination of parental rights of another child
 Criminal activity or conviction
 Instability

Understanding custody bias - how the system is stacked against us

Just because a custody battle ends with you not having access to your kids doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to see them. The 505 Movement advocates for good parents whom the legal system didn’t work. Now, they have unfairly lost custody of their children. This can happen for several reasons:

 Parental biases such as mothers being favored as primary caregiver over father’s rights
 Lack of resources
 Lack of good legal counsel
 Lack of information about the law
 False accusations of abuse or neglect
 Parental alienation
 Lack of consistent employment or stable housing

How do I qualify for the program?

We know parents in these circumstances are already stressed, so we try to make applying for this program as easy as possible. If you’re wondering how to get custody help, simply fill out our online application and submit it to us. Our committee reviews all new applicants and responds with a decision within two weeks.
